Back injury leaves Monfils with easy win over Murray
I clearly spoke too soon.
Very early in the third set, Murray started with problems in his lower back and, despite Monfils suffering a bizarre lack of form, the match just petered out.
The inquest will begin as to whether this is an unfortunate injury or an indication of lack of fitness, but let's hope they also note the superb play (admittedly from both players) in the first two sets.
The final score: 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-1 2-6 1-6
