Andy Murray Crashes Out in the Semi-Finals - Newport USA

After getting first serve percentages over 70% against Kendrick, it was sadly the serve that let Murray down against Justin Gimelstob.

Murray was broken three times in the first set and, although he made a fight of the second set, eventually lost it on a tie-break. The final score 6-1 7-6 (7-4).

A disappointing exit, but the semi-final appearance was enough to raise Murray's world ranking one place to 35 - just three points away from a seeding at the US Open.
