Andy Murray Is Doubtful for Davis Cup - Ankle Injury

This wasn't mentioned in earlier match reports. Apparently Murray injured his article during his defeat to Wawrinka.

The report doesn't say when during the match this happened and, although it wasn't serious enough to stop Murray from playing, it will have made his game more cautious.

Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be too serious.

Murray Suffers Again at the Hands of Wawrinka

Andy Murray managed to take the second set but, on too many occasions, failed to hold his own serve - eventually losing: 5-7 6-3 4-6

This was always going to be a tough draw for Murray and, as long Murray is vulnerable on his own serve, consistency is always going to be a problem.

Andy Murray Has Opportunity For Revenge Against Wawrinka

Andy Murray will play Stanislas Wawrinka (46) in the first round, the player who beat Murray in straight sets in last years Davis Cup match against Switzerland.

If Murray wins, he will face Fernando Gonzalez in the second round, a player who previously beat him in Basle.

Looking further ahead, the winner of that match could well be facing Nadal in the fourth round.

It's a tough draw and again emphasises the importance of Murray getting a high enough ranking to earn a seeding in these tournaments. The seeded players all get a BYE in the first round and then face an unseeded opponent.

It would be really great to see Murray put in a "San Jose" like performance here, but I'd settle for seeing the smug smile wiped off Wawrinka's face :-P

I'll post again when I have an approximate time for the first match.

Andy Murray Awaits Draw in Miami

Andy Murray will have to face one of the 32 seeded players in the 2nd round assuming, of course, that he gets past the 1st :-)

The Nasdaq-100 likes to bill itself as the "fifth Grand Slam", as it offers more prize money than any of the other Master Series. There are also a lot of ranking points available so Murray will be keen to put in a good showing.

Andy Murray Defeated in 2nd Rnd in Indian Wells

Andy Murray put in a performance that neatly fitted his current world ranking, crushing Greek qualifier Vasilis Mazarakis 6-2, 6-1, before being defeated by Nikolay Davydenko 1-6 6-3 3-6.

As much as all Murray fans would like to see him repeat his performance in San Jose, (and it will happen) it's still encouraging to see Andy crushing a weaker player and then pushing a stronger player to three sets.

Andy now has the option of playing in a Challenger tournament in Florida before the next Master Series the week after.

Andy Murray Beaten by Tommy Robredo

As expected, it turned out to be a tough first round match, compounded by windy conditions.

6-2 6-2 was the final, disappointing result.

Next up are the first two Masters Series of the year in Indian Wells and Miami.

Murray's goal will be to get his ranking up to and beyond 32, ensuring seeding in future tournaments. This will help him to avoid the harder draws in the earlier rounds:
