Brad Gilbert Hints That Andy Murray Will Be Fit For Wimbledon
In an interview with the BBC, Brad Gilbert gave the strongest indication yet that Murray will be fit in time for Wimbledon.
Gilbert said, "Hopefully he's going to be playing Boodles next week and Wimbledon's around the corner."
Boodles is an exhibition event and would be a good opportunity to test his fitness without the pressure of a competitive tournament.
I find these comments particularly encouraging because Gilbert wrote off Murray's clay season when Murray himself was still hopeful of a quicker recovery. I think these comments would be very unlikely if Gilbert wasn't very confident that Murray was going to play at Boodles next week.
So all eyes will be on this exhibition. If Murray plays without any problems, then Wimbledon should be a cert.
